In general, where the minimum entry requirement for your chosen course is a UK first-class undergraduate degree, this equates to an overall US GPA of at least 3.7 based on the 4.0 system. For those courses which require a UK high second-class degree (first division), this is broadly equivalent to an overall US GPA of at least 3.5.
We recommend you check the entry requirements listed on the relevant course pages on the Graduate Admissions website to ascertain if you meet our basic minimum entry requirements.
If you do not meet the basic minimum entry requirement or are unsure of the standard of your qualification(s), please contact the academic department directly to check whether you are in a position to submit a competitive application. You will find the contact details for each department on the relevant course page. However, please be aware that entry to Oxford is extremely competitive and if you do not hold a qualification at the specified level as a minimum, your application is unlikely to succeed.
What is the Grade Point Average (GPA) I will need in order to apply for my graduate course?
